Thinking About Something Verses Doing IT

by admin on June 21, 2012

Chris Hasson
Every Morning Is A Chance At A New Day: Just learned something about getting up early.
My new Real Estate Training Regime is:
Up at 5am for cardio 1/2 hr, then 1/2 yoga, the hour of learning/training with the work say starting at 7am.
I finish work at 7pm.
If you want to be the best at your field, you have to get better.
This is what I learned:
Exercise in the morning will speed metabolism up exponentially more than exercising at night.
4 deep breaths in through the nose and 4 short sharp breaths out through the nose releases a chemical from the brain that makes you feel good (even when it is dark and serotonin hasn’t kicked in.
Have a great day.

“Do You Want To Make Great Decisions?”

Port Stephens Property Decision Making

How to Make Good Decisions

Making Good Decisions Is About The Process

This is how you make good decisions:

A high quality decision comes with a warrant: a guarantee. Not a guarantee of a certain outcome—remember this is the real world we’re talking about, and there are certain things that just aren’t knowable until after they happen—but a warranty that the process you used to arrive at a choice was a good one.
This level of confidence implies a process: a set of steps and rules that provide an assurance of thoroughness and rigor.

This means breaking decisions down into component parts and doing one thing at a time.

Unless you’re unlike most people, it is your nature to do what you know how to do and to avoid what you don’t. That’s why you want a rational decision process: To defeat the natural behaviors and tendencies that can lead to low quality decisions.
Without a process, you are likely to drag decisions into your comfort zone, handling “this one” in exactly the same way you handled “that one,” even though this one and that one may have little in common.

What’s Your Everest?

by admin on September 9, 2011

Everything Great Was Birthed In A Dream

Martin Luther didn’t say he had a goal, he said… I. Have. A. Dream! What’s Your Dream?

Stephens Bock was an average guy from Sydney with nothing really special other than a dream. To climb Mt Everest. Watch these 2 videos and reflect on what’s possible in your life if you stop listening to others, to your own self talk, to logic and just incisively dream about your dream.

If money was no option, if you had all the time in the world.

What would you be doing?

Once you come up with what it is you really would like to do, write it down daily and dream about it. Your subconscious mind amazingly has an in built mechanism that will find a away for you, draw the right people into your life at the right times and your destiny will be for filled.

5 years ago I had a dream. I dreamt of being an elite real estate agent, of being a principal, of using my teaching degree towards Real Estate training and Real estate coaching. I dreamt of enough money and time of having 10 weeks a year holidays, of not going to work if I didn’t want to. I dreamt of writing an award winning book, of setting up an Internet Marketing company selling information products on the world wide web, then helping other Real Estate agents with that skill in their Real Estate business to set up an automated lead generating system so they don’t have to spend countless hours contacting their database in search of leads. I dream’t that this Internet Marketing company would provide a passive income that required no more than 20 hours a week to manage so that if I ever got tired of Real Estate I could leave. So that I could put my time and energy into Real Estate because I loved it and the people in it. Not because it was my JOB. Of setting up a foundation large enough to write a $1million dollar cheque for the right cause.

I am now living this dream.

To the Stephen Bocks of this world who have followed their dream and helped inspire me to follow mine. I say thankyou :)

I hope you enjoy this weekends message and that something little inside you today is stirred for positive action. It was for me.

The Vital Real Estate Key Is Communication And Choosing The Right Real Estate Agent Is Easier Than You Think

Real estate agentThe ability of a real estate agent to communicate with others will attribute to 85% of success. And with 80% of real estate agents achieving 20% of sales and 20% of real estate agents achieving 80% of sales, there has never been a more import important time to find a Real Estate agent that is a great communicator. With trust being the glue that binds this industry together and trust built on good communication, understanding what good communication is will make you alot of money when you sell. Negotiating, the money end of the real estate transaction, involves communication as the sealant for a successful negotiation. There is a real need for a thorough understanding of what good communication looks like if you are going to choose the right Real Estate agent. i will spend a couple of posts covering good communication for you.

There are Three Parts To Communication

Aristotle separated communication into three parts:

  1. Ethos- The character of a person. Emerson once famously said “What you are shouts so load at me that Ireal estate agent can’t hear a word you are saying”. Character, believability, genuineness, is very very important. This is one of the most overlooked parts of communication by Real Estate agents. It takes years to build, changing mindsets, doing the right thing, thinking of others more than oneself. A person who has high character can say little but be incredibly influential. How much does your real estate agent talk about themselves, their success, their agency. A person of high character doesn’t need to do this.
  2. Pathos-Connecting with Emotion. I was with a surgeon and we were talking about my symptoms and he stopped the conversation and said “tell me where it hurts”. Pathos is connecting with the person. Great communicators care more about you than themselves. They ask lots of questions. They realize that people are carrying a heavy load. There was a great analogy I heard recently where someone said, if everyone took their problems and placed it in a pile and you could see the piles of others you would sneak shamelessly away with your petty problems into the night. When you tune into other peoples problems and concerns it is amazing how much better your life is. This is connecting. You trust someone so much more when you realize they have your best interest at heart.
  3. Logos-This is the factual part of the conversation. It is the least relevant yet most people in communicating spend all their time on this part. Talking about their goals, their holiday, their story or their product/service. Or they ask a question and when listening, are only listening in order to think of something factual and important to say that relates to what the other person is saying. Albert Marabian and his studies have discovered that words only account for 7%of the message with tone of voice 38%. Women have been proven to have a much richer inner life because of their communication skills. How many times have you heard a women say to you “It was not what you said…it was the way you said it.” Tone is much more important than what you say. Listening to yourself on video is a great way to analyse your tone. Try not to go up in tone at then end of each sentence. It is asking a question and refers to the listener that you really need their approval and as the old saying goes “show your seed, not your need”

Tomorrow we continue in the discovery of what good communication looks like. This is Chris Hasson, have a great day.

Are Port Stephens Property Values Dropping?

Port Stephens property prices have dropped,  so when is the best time to buy?

Port stephens property The question on every ones lips is should I wait or buy.

Uncertainty is a killer in the property market and Port Stephens, being a resort area can be the hardest hit in tough times

Because Port Stephens property prices are governed by supply and demand.

When a lot of investors bail out at once it puts supply pressures on the market as there are more properties to choose from.

So is it a good time to buy now?

Port Stephens Property Prices Have Bottomed And That Is Great News Because?

With an adjustment of prices comes new buyers with more balanced books.

A lot of the bad property debt has been bought out in Australia since the 2008 financial crisis.

Wise business peoples property philosophy is that when people are greedy, be fearful and when people are fearful be greedy. People are fearful so historically people will look back and say that this was great buying period.

Interest rates due to the worlds finance instability will come down yet our resources boom will keep our economy strong.

Take the example of the Port Stephens property below. Many apartments have been bought in this block for around $2 million, arguably the best units in Port Stephens. One 3 bedroom was sold last month for $1million and Port Stephens property below listed at $995,000.

Now is a great time to be buying Port Stephens property.

A Story Of Motivation

April 8, 2011

Motivation has been often described as intrinsic but an interesting argument finds a case for extrinsic causes. The reward and punishment technique used for motivation has proven within relationships, children employees and consumers to be the more restrictive than motivating. Interestingly, 3 main cause and effects appear to be linked to motivation. 1. Autonomy 2. [...]
