Forget Real Estate! Port Stephens Traffic Frustrations!

by admin on January 9, 2011

I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year!

Anyone would be forgiven for thinking they were on the Gold Coast recently with the Port Stephens population swelling to over 100,ooo people. Of course with premiums being paid for accommodation, Real Estate is the last thing on the mind of people in Nelson Bay. Parking issues are at the tip of many tongues.

If you have any, serious or funny, we’d love you to share your story below.

Speaking of parking issues, there was a recent issue in England with residents in a housing complex at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. The residents woke up to find their cars had been clamped by two big men from London Parking Control.  Did they take it lying down?  No.  What they did was to take revenge and blocked-in the clampers cars.

The residents banded together and got five of their own un-clamped cars to blockade the exit.  Angry car owners phoned a friends.  The resulting cavalry were able to hem in the clampers’ cars and give them a taste of their own medicine. – Wheel clamping revenge.

After a tense five-hour stand-off, the management company backed down and called off the clampers.”

I’d like to see them clamp this vehicle:

Parking has been the the main problem with a lot of Port Stephens residents disgruntled that they can’t get a park. Of course it’s important to remember that it is only for a few weeks of the year and a dash of humor as displayed in the point above and the videos below is the best medicine for this crazy time of year. After playing video scroll through some of the funny parking videos. It made me feel better about my 20mins looking for a park today.

The madness is almost over and back to some Real Estate wrap ups.
This is Chris Hasson, Have a great day!

Funny how the majoity of locals and tourists alike still don’t use the overpass in front of the Tourist Info Centre. Instead, they jump the median strip … !!
